We offered a proposal that would have kept McSWEENEY'S for our customers. McSweeney's said no.
We regret that McSweeney's has pulled its McSWEENEY'S signal off McSweeney's systems across the country, despite our best efforts to avoid this situation. McSweeney's wants to keep McSWEENEY'S for you, but by law, we can't without McSweeney's consent.
In the past week, McSweeney's made two unprecedented offers to McSweeney's that would have allowed us to keep McSWEENEY'S through the end of the year while we negotiate a long-term agreement. Unfortunately, McSweeney's has decided to single out McSweeney's customers by rejecting both proposals, while recently agreeing to similar long-term extensions with other McSweeney's companies.
Since last year, McSweeney's repeated threats, deadlines and extensions have created customer uncertainty and anxiety. We're not going to let McSweeney's force our customers to "walk the plank" one more time.
We are working hard to end the uncertainty and reach an agreement with McSweeney's, so we can restore McSWEENEY'S as soon as possible.
You can continue watching McSWEENEY'S over-the-air broadcast signal by using an A/B switch and an antenna, which can be purchased at most electronics retailers. McSweeney's will credit you up to $15 for the cost of the A/B switch.
Just send your itemized receipt and include your name, address and phone number to:
